CMass Team Overview

Central Mass Juniors Volleyball Club will offer players an opportunity to play for an club team or a open team this year.

Club teams compete against other New England Juniors clubs and the tournament sites are generally within an hour's drive. However, some teams may have to drive to the Cape, CT, RI, NH or even ME. All players are responsible for their own transportation to and from practices and tournaments. Practices are approximately 2 hours, 1 time per week and are held either Saturday or Sunday night at Hudson High School. The five tournaments (which begin 3/2/08) are generally all day affairs and held on Sundays only. Teams are formed based on age, number of participants and skill level. Age groups are 12's, 14's, 15's and 16's and 17's. The cost of playing on one of these teams will remain $350.00 for the 2007-2008 season.

Open teams are made up of the elite players in the area. These teams are required to qualify for the league and only the top eight teams in New England make it. CMass Juniors attempts to field at least one 14's, 16's and 18's team if we feel the teams will be able to be competitive. In addition to the regular tournament schedule these teams will play two to three additional all-weekend tournaments starting the weekend of January 19-20, 2008. The cost is $750 for 16's and 18's open teams and $500 for 14's open teams. There may be additional costs for tournaments held outside the region.

Practices
CMass will attempt to have 12's and 14's teams practice on Saturdays. Final practice schedules will be determined when the teams are established. Tournament schedules are published on the home page approximately 5 days before the tournaments.
