CMass Team Overview

Club Teams

Club teams compete against other New England Juniors clubs and the tournament sites are generally within an hour's drive. However, some teams may have to drive to the Cape, CT, RI, NH or even ME. All players are responsible for their own transportation to and from practices and tournaments. Practices are approximately 2 hours, 1 time per week and are held either Saturday or Sunday at Forekicks II in Marlborough. The five tournaments (which begin 3/7/10) are generally all day affairs and held on Sundays only. Teams are formed based on age, number of participants and skill level. Age groups are 14's, 15's and 16's and 17's. The cost of playing on one of these teams will be $550 for the 2009-2010 season.

Open Teams

Open teams are made up of the elite and more experienced players in the area. These teams are required to qualify for the league and only the top eight teams in New England make it. CMass Juniors attempts to field at least one 16's and 18's team if we feel the teams will be able to be competitive. In addition to the regular tournament schedule these teams will play two to three additional all-weekend tournaments starting around the weekend of January 24, 2010. The cost is $1200 for open teams. There may be additional costs for tournaments held outside the region.

In-House Program
We are also working to improve our in-house program.  We will provide skills training and some in-house competition on Saturday mornings from 8-10am for 12 weeks beginning on January 2, 2010 at a cost of $200 per player.  Players will be grouped based upon skill and experience.  There are no tryouts for this program.
